Last Monday's blog talked about some of the unhealthy ways of dealing with stress. As promised, I'll give you the alternatives--the healthy ways of dealing with stress. - Look for a replacement--channel your energy into another productive activity, as opposite to procrastination.
- Take care of yourself--sometimes, stress arises because we tend to neglect our health. Sleep for instance--make sure you have adequate rest for it affects our moods for the day if we lack adequate sleep.

An effective way of coping with stress is by starting a stress journal which could aid you in recognizing some of the habitual stressors in your life. Of course, it also helps you in coping with stress. As for me, every time I feel stressed, (who says coaches are exempted from getting stressed?) I monitor it on my journal. As I keep my daily record, I began to see some common patterns like:
- What caused you to feel stressed
- How you felt at that time both physically and emotionally--and how you reacted to it
- and what did you do to lessen it.

This month of October, I'm going to share with you the simple and practical relaxation techniques to bring back the balance in your hectic lifestyle.
Well, first off, let's start with our breathing. Yes, deep breathing exercises to be more specific. Actually, this is one of the relaxation techniques which could be self-taught.
