The funny thing about life is that everyone has a problem. No matter who you are or what you do, you've come a cross a problem in your personal life at least once. Then we try to best the problem, channel it or tear it apart lest it defeat us.
This is what I do. I immerse myself in problems and connect with people. My first inspiration came from helping a friend overcome a past that followed her into adulthood. I realized the joy of helping people realize strength to overcome weakness and the vocation that called me to find other people and help them; to learn from them and use their stories of success and hardships to help others like them.
Like all journeys of self-discovery however, all journeys start and end with your own fulfillment. As a young girl I wasn't the prettiest or the smartest of the bunch, but I knew that I mattered just as much as everyone else. I went to college, finished my degree in Psychology and went out into the world with my new found knowledge, but I realized that was just the beginning.
I was eager to share my developed skills with the people around me. I first joined a group that helped develop self esteem among high school teens. It was something that I particularly favored. The turmoil of my past was all too fresh, but I had come to terms with them. I poured all my efforts into the teens that sought my help. Caught up in the joy of seeing the people I’d helped attain a higher level of self-esteem, I realized that this was what I was meant for.
If I restrained myself to just one desk job, I would have been limiting myself when I could do so much more. This is where blogging came in. With blogging people all over the world could reach me. They can share my thoughts and they confide theirs to me. Whether they would accept or refuse my help was their own decision, but I'm here and I'm willing to help.
I've taken countless journeys of learning; gone to school, extensive research, talked to clients and gone through different experiences in the field of guidance. Helping people help themselves is the story of my life and I can say with confidence that I'm very good at my life's work.
