No matter how jolly or patient a person can be, you know that there will be times wherein he will be hit by a bad mood. It can be due to a lack of sleep, too much stress at work or whatever the case may be, it's only human to sometimes have a bout with bad mood.
*Get real and know the root cause of your bad mood. It's an all-too familiar scenario: You just snapped at your coworker who didn't say/do anything to piss you off. Now you feel something yet you're not truly sure why or what it is. Therefore, you begin to look for some reasons. There's simply too much work, pressured on the deadline. You woke up at the wrong side of the bed.
*Perhaps you're quite frustrated with yourself but you just can't admit it--it's simply too hurtful. advertisement Or you're scared of recognizing a person who offended you because you simply can't stand confrontation. whatever it is, get real; lashing out will not address the issue that's taking control of your emotions.
*But of course, it's not also healthy to bottle up what you're feeling and mask a facade of happiness when you feel like breaking down. You have the right to express how you feel when you need to. If someone asks you what's bothering you, be honest--"I'm having a bad day. don't feel fine, but I'm sure I'll be better if I..."
*Then complete that sentence. It can be anything that's a sure-fire way to put a smile on your face.
It can be eating your favorite food, dancing with your favorite music, having fun with your kids, watching your favorite movie--anything! Know what those small things which enhances your mood. It's a helpful reminder that overcoming your bad mood and pushing through your discomfort till the end will be worth it because it will be your most deserving reward later on.
Bad moods may get the best of us at times, but we must learn that we should be masters of our own emotions and not the other way around.
