*******************************************************************
Remember when you were still in grade school
and you competed in a race?
Didn't you want to win at the time because
of the simple reason that you wanted to?
Didn't you want the rest of people who were
also there to compete?
And didn't it feel good when you did win?
If you look back at what you did when you
were a kid you can use it to become a winner
now.
I will say that winning is never easy and will
never be easy but if you get to develop the
traits you had before it makes it easier to
do so.
So what did you have as a kid that you probably
have forgotten as an adult?
Well determination is one.
When you were a kid you were probably determined
to be first and to hell with everything else.
You wanted to win - period.
Nothing else mattered.
This was your only focus and nothing else.
And your motivation?
What was it that you were fighting for?
Nothing complicated - just to get the eye of
the person you had a crush on.
Sound familiar?
And because you were a kid at the time you
were confident that you were gonna win.
Sadly this kind of confidence seems to
disappear as we get older.
You have to remember that having low self-confidence
will not make you a winner.
You need to know that you can do it and are
able to do it.
And the price?
Well when you were a kid I don't think you
ever thought about the price you were going
to pay in order to win.
By that I mean I doubt if you practiced running
for hours just so you could win.
We never thought about those kind of things
when we were young but that doesn't mean
we shouldn't do that now that we know better.
Ask yourself: what have you given up in order
to win?
To put it in a basketball analogy: how many
shots at the basket did you make in order
to win.
Did you practice shooting 100 or 1,000 balls
into the hoop?
When others were practicing for 1 hour did
you practice for 2 or 3 or
more hours?
Because that's what winners do.
They dedicate themselves into perfecting
what ever it is they want to accomplish.
And that dedication is both physical and
mental.
Basically you are putting your all into winning.
And winners don't make any excuses.
When you were a kid when you won you won,
when you lost you lost and you you cried but
you made no excuses.
Your parents probably made the excuses for
you.
So you just need to throw away any and all
excuse you can make or have.
Remember that even when you're geared for
winning you need to be prepared to lose.
Losing is painful but you need to pick yourself
up and learn from the loss so you know what
to do the next time.
That's what makes a winner.
