Living a happy life is wonderful and can
also good for your health.

Being happy is actually a protection from
the stresses of life, stress that's linked
as a factor in heart disease, cancer and
stroke.

In life, the one thing that will remain the
same is that it will always undergo change.

The thing is, we do have the power to make
the necessary changes if we want to.

Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable
situation we can find solace in the knowledge
that it too can change and that we, ourselves,
can change it.

Human beings are social creatures. Thus,
social networks or relationships are essential
to our happiness.

Because people are different, we need to
be able to accept them for who they are,
avoid clashes, arguments, and resentments.

Even if it's unavoidable what is important
is the effort to understand the situation.

Do that and you may just find the solution
you are looking for.

Everyone has the potential for happiness,
and it is up to us to find it, release it, or
increase it, even if a little.

To be happy is relatively easy - just decide
to be a happy person.

This is because for the most part, people
can decide just how happy, stressed out,
troubled, or relaxed they are.

You may have seen it - people who seem
to have no worries even when everything
around them is collapsing, and people who
constantly sweat the small stuff even when
it's not necessary.

The choice to be happy is up to you.

There are several ways by which you can
do this.

Being grateful is a great attitude and it's
not like you have to do a lot to show your
gratitude. And it's not like you will lose
anything if you do.

And besides, we do have a lot to be thankful
for.

Do this:

- Thank the taxi driver for bringing you
home safely

- Thank the cook for a wonderful dinner

- Thank the cleaning person for emptying
your trash can

- Thank the mailman, the policeman, the
garbage man for doing their jobs for you.

- Most of all, thank the fact that you are
alive.

And try to lessen the negative impact of
your surroundings.

Like watching the news for example.

I mean let's face it, the news can be stressful,
what with reports about killings and accidents
and deaths in the forefront.

What do you do?

Watch less and less of it.

If you're into the spiritual then connect with
it on a daily basis. Be part of a group and
be active in it.

Manage your time - it's invaluable and once
lost can never be regained.

They say laughter is the best medicine.
They would be right.

Laugh heartily everyday. Cherish a good
joke or a humorous situation.

Learn to express your feelings to the people
around you. Not only will you prevent things
from being bottled up inside you but the
people that you've opened up to will appreciate
it and you.

And if you're into finishing things then do
a project that you can be proud of, even
if it's a simple as baking a cake.

And of course it doesn't hurt to try and learn
something new everyday. Learning can help
expand and broaden your horizons.

These are but a few things you can do to
make your life a happy life.

What is important is your mindset. To live
a happy life you need to want to live a happy
life and decide to actually make it possible.

Self-sabotage is something you must not let
happen.

Remember, you are only as happy as you
make yourself out to be.
