Finding Happiness In Your Workplace Equates To Finding Happiness In Your Work
Work can be such a pain BUT
you can find the hidden joys
in your workplace.
Find out how here.
Make work as enjoyable as
your favorite hobby and feel
like it's the best job in
the world.
************************************************************
We all have a dream job. I'm
sure you have one?
It's the job where we enjoy
everything and get paid a
lot of money for doing
almost nothing.
Everyone's goal.
But sadly, reality doesn't
always reflect fantasy.
And where are you? Stuck
in a job that you wouldn't
shake a stick at if it weren't
for the state of the current
economy.
Of course you would be
gloomy.
Why not? This isn't your
dream job after all.
It's only a stop gap measure
until you do land your
dream job.
Let me say this: Grow Up!
Yes, it's not your dream job
but you should appreciate
it because, who knows this
may be where you get to
shine.
And just because it's a
regular job doesn't mean
you can't be happy in it.
Given the opportunity even
the worst sounding job can
become the best one for you.
************************************************************
1. Look at the bright side
Yes, despite your feelings of
gloom and doom your job can't
be all that bad.
There is always a silver-lining
in any situation - you just
need to know where you
can find it.
Once you find the positive
side of it focus on it.
Develop the good side of
your work and before long
you'll start to forget the
bad side.
************************************************************
2. Make your workplace
your 2nd home
Yes, most of us will probably
work more than 50 hours per
week and not get to see our
families but that's not what
I mean obviously.
Making your workplace your
2nd home simply means
making it distinctively yours.
It's like marking your territory.
Just because you work at a
cubicle doesn't mean it has
to look like every other cubicle
in the office.
Make it so when other people
pass by they know it's your
cubicle.
Of course you can't just willy-
nilly redecorate without first
knowing what the office policies
are concerning the workspace.
And as part of making your
workspace yours make sure
you keep it clean.
You want to stand out but not
because you have dirt all over
your table.
************************************************************
3. Socialize
Yes, believe it or not you can
make friends at the office.
It can be your next door
neighbor or the one in the
next department.
I'm not necessarily talking
about really best buddies
here but someone you
can talk to.
And you'll find that taking a
few minutes to enhance a
personal relationship will
make the job seem better.
And whatever you do, keep
away from office gossip and
negative pow-wows.
Yes having bitch-sessions are
good but not when it's the same
thing over and over again.
Try and look for positive people
who act to do something about
the negative aspects of the
workplace.
************************************************************
4. Work is work, Home is home
Do not intertwine the two.
Home is your last bastion for
peace and relaxation.
A place where you can leave
ALL the stress of the day and
recharge yourself.
It wouldn't be if you bring your
work home with you.
Don't do that. That's one way
of ensuring you won't have a
social or even a love life.
Or if you have family, that's
one way of alienating them.
Use the time away from work
to be just that: time AWAY
from work.
That way you can come back
the next day refreshed and
ready to face the work again.
And you wouldn't be grumpy
about the fact you didn't get
any sleep because you were
thinking about work.
************************************************************
Try to enjoy the little things
because you'll find that it will
snowball into something
worthwhile.
And you can be a happy worker
in the process.
Happiness at work is your choice.
You can choose to be happy
or not.
What is important is you work
on it.
To your inner success,
