Get Respect At Work By Giving It
Work well with your co-workers
and your boss so your work life
becomes blissful and fun.
Check how you can do that here.
Imagine what your life would be
if WORK would feel like your
favorite sport, play, or a picnic!
************************************************************
If you're working full-time then
you know that you can spend
at least 40 hours at work
each week.
It's no surprise to find that you
spend as much time with your
co-workers as you do with
your family and friends.
That being the case, it is of
great importance that you
create a positive work environment
and that your relationship with
the people in your workplace
is based on respect.
That's right - respect. And the
beauty of it is you can get the
respect of your co-workers
simply by giving it.
So let's enumerate some
ways you can get the respect
you want and need in your
workplace.
Needless to say, it is important
that you yourself embody the
respect that you are seeking.
By that I mean you need to
reflect the attitude that is
worthy of respect.
Be optimistic at work regardless
of the situation.
Always look at the bright side
of things.
Having a solid work ethic shows
that you are the type of person
who will always do your best
every time.
By finishing your work on well,
on time and giving assistance
when needed lets others know
that they can depend on you.
If a team project goes well, get
excited and share your results
with others.
And don't forget to give credit
where credit is due.
Don't join the gossip mill, even
if you're hearing juicy news.
Gossips simply creates a
hostile, negative, and unhealthy
work environment that can be
detrimental to your team and
to individuals
You want to build relationships
with your co-workers based
on trust and joining the gossip
mill is definitely not how you go
about doing that.
Your integrity is important so
you need to deal with your
co-workers as honestly as
possible, and not do it
behind their backs.
Also don't forget to take care
of your immediate work
environment.
And making sure everything
is in it's place doesn't stop
in your desk.
It also applies to wherever you
may be. This means that you
clean up after yourself in the
cafeteria or staff kitchen, and
you do not touch anything when
you are visiting your co-workers.
At the same time, you don't have
loud phone conversations or do
anything that may be a
distraction to others
around you.
Remember, you're not the only
one working here.
And please, always mind you
manners.
A simple please and thank
you goes a long way, but it
should not stop there.
Be mindful of your co-workers
beliefs. We all have a right to
our own beliefs and you should
not try to force your political
or religious beliefs on your
co-workers.
You want to relieve stress when
you guys meet one another,
not to become more stressed.
If you need something to remind
yourself how you should act
then ask yourself:
"How do I want others to act
around me?"
"What actions do others make
that irritate me, which can also
irritate them if I do it?"
Basically, it's the golden rule
"do unto others the way you
want others to do unto you."
If you give your co-workers
respect, then you are assured
that they will return that
respect to you.
