because whether they like to
admit it or not, men like that

Admit it, you always worry
about how well you look,
don't you?

There's nothing wrong with
that. It's part of our nature
after all - we want to look our
best not just for ourselves but
also for our potential partner.

It's the primal instinct in
all of us.

You do everything possible -
exercise, diet, detox - you
name it, you do it.

The thing is, many people
don't realize or rather they
take for granted one of the
simplest, albeit the more
important, beauty enhancers
out there - SLEEP.

When you sleep, you're not
just getting a simple rest.

Oh no.

Experts have said that sleep
is the time your body heals
and repairs itself.

And for the average person,
a good night sleep of at least
eight hours is basic and
essential to one’s health and
beauty - that is if you want to
avoid bloodshot eyes, dark
under-eye circles and paleness.

Nothing beats having a restful,
forty winks to wake up fully
refreshed, in the peak of
alertness and energy, ready
to face another tough day.

There are a number of factors
that affect you attaining a good
nights sleep.

Things like your personal habits,
your lifestyle, work shifts, daily
habits and health conditions
matter on whether or not you
sleep well at night.

For example, people who
snore tend to have much
more difficulty sleeping
when compared to people
who don't.

Then there are people who
claim that even three hours
of sleep is enough to give
them the rest they need.

That being said, since you
and I know that not all people
are the same, what may be
sufficient sleep for one may
not be enough for the other.

Like I said earlier, it depends
on the type of person you are
and the factors (habits) that
you bring along with you.

Generally, people who have
gotten more rest not only look
a lot more appealing, but also
look more attractive to the
eyes of other people as
compared to those who
didn't sleep well.

Despite being early in the
day, they already look
stressed and tired.

That being said, we do have
to take into consideration
the fact that not everyone
can get to bed as easily
as others can.

Your body’s condition can
be a factor that is working
against you.

Even if you know that sleep
is good for you, you can
never force yourself to go
to sleep no matter how
hard you want to.

I'm sure you've had that
happen to you in many
an occasion.

These bouts of insomnia
can be a big drain to your
body both physically and
mentally.

To counter that, always let
our body be ready for sleep
before lying in bed.

When the body is not
prepared to sleep it's likely
that you'll have difficulty
sleeping.

If you are still awake and
lying in bed for more than
twenty minutes, then it is
about time to quickly get
out of bed.

And counting sheep doesn't
help.

One way to induce slumber
is to perform light exercises
every day - even if it's just
something as simple as
walking for 20 minutes.

This will release pent up
energy and keep those
stress hormones from
interfering with your sleep.

Just don't exercise close to
bedtime or you'll actually
NOT fall asleep.

Also, DON'T use your bed
other than for sleeping.

That's not what it's for.

Most of us watch tv or use
the bed as an extension of
our work place.

When you do that your body
will not see your bed as a place
to rest but as nothing more than
a place for work.

Remember this:
BED = SLEEP.

And no stimulants at least 4
hours before sleeping. And
by stimulants I mean caffeine,
nicotine or alcohol.

Also keep the lights off. Try
to sleep in complete darkness
if at all possible.

Even dim light can disrupt
your body's sleep cycle and
the production of the sleep
aid melatonin.

If necessary wear an eye
mask so that you really
block out all the light.

And remember when your
mother told you to sleep
early even when you didn't
want to. She had a point.

Our body heals and recharges
itself roughly through the hours
before and after midnight so
if you're not asleep by then
you yourself are causing your
body's lack of recovery.

A good night sleep is a crucial
factor in contributing to your
health, beauty and well being.

Make sure you get enough
of it - unless you want to look
like a hag come morning.
