Manage Your Time In Order To Succeed
Want to know what you can
do to make your work life less
stressful and more fun?
Then check this out here.
So you don't have to imagine
work to be like sport or play -
it just will be.
*******************************************
You're at work. You have a lot
of projects that seem to start
and end at the same time.
It has gotten to the point that
24-hours just doesn't seem
enough.
If you can relate to that situation
you are not alone.
There comes a point in one's
career that the work load just
seems to much for the time
given you.
That's when the concept of
time management comes in.
Time management doesn't mean
working more hours. It actually
means being able to do more
with what time you have - or
even in less time.
Time management will actually
help increase your leisure time
since you will be that much more
productive during working hours.
It is important to note that time
management and your success
go hand-in-hand because you
need one to have the other.
The sad part is that more often
than not, people tend to
overlook this.
Even when we are well aware
of time flying us by we still
don't do anything about it - and
wonder why our promotion
flew just as fast past us.
Once you let time past you by
you won't be able to get it back.
This is because time is a limited
resource.
The deadlines for your project
will not change no matter how
fast or how slow you work - it
will slowly but surely reach its
end, coming closer and closer
to you until before you know it,
it's right there in front of your face.
And because you cannot make
up for lost time you have to
compromise on your work and
do haphazard job of it.
And imagine how this will look
to your boss or colleagues
when you turn in work that has
the obvious look of being done
without any thought of quality -
all because you ran out of time.
You can kiss that promotion
or commendation goodbye -
or nearly so. There goes your
success
With any success, having goals
are important. This could be
your goals for the project you
have or your own goals in life
or in your career.
Regardless of what they are,
these goals needs to be placed
in a time-line in order of priority.
The time-line has to show the
steps to achieve the goal(s) and
the time when each step has to
be done.
Once you have that, you then
need to put aside the time each
day for you to do the steps
that you have enumerated in
order to achieve your goal(s).
And just because you're doing
time management does not
mean you have to have a minute
by minute schedule of something
to do every day.
Time management simply a
way wherein you make your
working hours that much more
productive versus someone
who does not manage their
time well.
And once you are able to
manage your time you will find
that you can do more because
you have become efficient.
This gives you a competitive
advantage versus your colleagues
or co-workers since you get more
done in the same amount of time.
It can get the eye of your boss
who will see you as an important
cog in the workplace which can
then result in more responsibilities
and more respect.
However, do be careful you
don't get carried away just
because you have the advantage.
There is nothing good that can
come out of alienating your co-
workers lest you feel their wrath
in one form or another.
Just be cool-headed about it
and before you know it you'll
be climbing that corporate ladder
in no time.
One problem that may be a
difficult roadblock to your
success may be your own
reluctance to do unpleasant
assignments.
Like it or not procrastination
will lay to waste the best laid
plans.
You need to develop your
character as someone able
to complete everything that
needs to be done.
Only then can you continue to
your own success.
And if you want to know more
on how to work well with your
co-workers and to appreciate
and love your job despite its
limitations the take a look at
