Simple Ways You Can Give Your Self-Confidence A Boost

The thing is, having low self-
confidence can prevent you
from ever pursuing your
dreams.

Most often it's because of
your fear of failure.

The thing is, this is something
all of us go through in one form
or another - so you are not
alone.

How you get out of that rut so
you can face the world is another
thing altogether.

The important thing about self-
confidence is that it starts
from you.

Little things can help you
psychologically that can help
you boost your self-confidence.

First thing you got to do first to
feel good is for you to look good.

It's true. How can you feel good
about yourself when you don't
look like you can feel good
about yourself.

By that I mean, if you have
frumpy hair, perpetual five-
o'clock shadow, wear clothes
that looks like you slept in
them, and exude a smell only
a skunk would love (and I am
exaggerating) then can you
seriously look at yourself and
say you have confidence in
yourself?

I don't think you will, and
neither will the people around
you.

One thing I will say you won't
have problems riding the
subway.

But levity aside, it is important
that you show some respect
to how your body looks.

Groom yourself. Take care of
your personal hygiene - your
hair, your face, your body, your
fingers, and your skin: keep
them clean and well maintained.

And if you do smell like a skunk,
please there are a myriad of
deodorants that can help take
care of that.

Brush your teeth at least once
a day...at least that much.

Yellow is a good color but not
for teeth. And if it smells like
the sewers pop a mint -
please.

As for those clothes, don't
wear your pajamas to work -
or anywhere for that matter.

The clothes you slept in belong
in the bedroom and that's it.

And it doesn't have to be
something expensive or even
have to be a brand name.

As long as you're comfortable
wearing it and it fits you then
it's good.

And even if you look good and
wear good, if you don't walk
good what's the use.

Walking good means walking
with confidence head held high
and with good posture.

At the same time think and
act positively.

Don't be a defeatist right off
the bat.

Get rid of all your negative
thoughts about yourself and
affirm that you can do things
and do them well.

Do something that you know
you're good at. At the same
time do something that you've
been putting off - take the risk.

How do you know you'll fail
without even trying?

Remember, you can be wrong
about it.

And even if you make a mistake,
learn from it and forget it.

I mean forget the mistake but
keep the lesson learned.

And don't be disappointed with
set-backs. You can't be perfect
the first time around.

The important thing is you never
give up when
you do fail.

And if you're facing a problem
tackle it. Don't put it in the back
burner hoping it will go away.

It won't and it will only get worst.

Tackle it now so you get it out
of the way while it's still easy
to do so.

And if you can't finish it in one
go, do it one small piece at
a time.

Before you know it you'd have
taken care of it.

Remember, good self esteem
is not just something that
happens by accident.

It's a result of how you think
and what you do daily.
