Watch Out For These 2 Work Place Manners To Prevent Conflict
Know your co-workers for a blissful
work life. Imagine a life where work
feels like playing a sport or having
a picnic.
See how it could be here.
************************************************************
Speaking of interacting with co-
workers, how do you prevent any
interaction from becoming something
else?
By that I mean, what rules - unwritten
or otherwise - does one follow in
order to not rub anyone the wrong
way.
You have to admit, it is an important
question to ask, specially if you are
working in such a small and confined
workplace.
Well let me tell you this, there are
some work-place rules that are
generally followed to prevent friction
within the workplace.
Let's list them out shall we?
************************************************************
1. Think before you do
anything else
Basically this means before you
say anything; before you do anything;
you need to think things over first
so as not to put your foot in your
mouth, or worst.
When you're in a conversation with
a co-worker don't say anything that
may be taken the wrong way.
If you're thinking of saying something
witty or provocative think it over first.
What may be witty for you may be
an offense for your co-workers.
And don't just go disputing everything
that is said against you, even if they
are rightfully unfounded.
Be that as it may, there may be
some basis as to why others are
saying those things against you.
Try and see it from your co-worker's
perspective so you at least have an
idea why they are saying all those
things.
And the good thing about it is, if
they see that you are trying to
understand what their position is,
they will more likely to work with
you in order to clear things up,
or to find a solution should there
be a problem found.
************************************************************
2. Do unto others what you want
others to do unto you
The golden rule as we all know it.
If you want to be treated cordially
and with respect you have to treat
others that way as well.
Regardless of the situation, make
every effort to be cordial and friendly
with each co-worker.
Try to notice your co-workers - their
mannerisms, their clothing, or their
work.
If you can compliment something
about them do so - as long as
you're sincere about it.
That being said, it's also a good
idea to support a co-worker or a
manager on an idea even if you
were the one who thought it up.
Learn to assess your battles and
what you get based on your win-
loss scenario.
************************************************************
Your workplace is your other family.
Like your real family, it has its
different characters with their own
quirks and personalities - only
there's a lot more of them.
Interacting with them is a practice
in diplomacy.
Patience is key.
Give and take a necessity.

workers that you may meet and
