Preparing For Your Job Interview

Tags: , ,

The night before your interview, the beating of your heart is so fast. Who on earth can sleep deeply before the big day? Your stomach feels as if your organs are having some trouble. You feel anxious, nervous and uneasy. Your imagination can make you like that. You're confused if you like to drag the time to finish everything or you wish to stop it because there are a lot of “what ifs” in your mind. You'll know everything tomorrow. And you'll face all the mean-spirited interrogations as if you're a criminal. Well, you call those feelings as “interview nerves”.

It's normal for all people who have little experience to feel this. So, how can you in this situation? Actually there are some techniques to calm those anxious nerves. For example, practice and prepare. Practice makes perfect, as often said. The more you are interviewed, the more assured you will be. If you failed once, it doesn't mean it's the end of your world. Everybody has a lot of chances. All you've got to do is clarify the reasons why you like the job. You should know your interview skills ahead of time. And don't cram. Interviews are just like your final exams.

You must study hard to get a high score. So, in terms of that, you must know the background of the company and the position that you're applying for. Ask yourself, “ Am I suitable for this kind of job? And do I have some extraordinary skills that I can show to them?” Think of some possible questions that you're going to encounter and find good answers to those questions. Give only the facts and . Don't tell your life story to them. Give associated answers to the questions. If they want to know about you, you could tell them something which is related to the job that you're applying for.

In addition, you may also practice an interview with another person. Find someone who could share their experiences with you and they could help you create a realistic interview situation. Experience is a better teacher, most people say. Learn from other people's experience. And one more thing, visioning success, this is also a nerve calming strategy. When you're creating a vision of success, you help yourself in achieving that vision. Find one quiet place, sit down and then relax. In your mind, create an image of yourself being successful during the interview situation. Savor that good feeling so that you would because you already made a vision of success through imagination.

On that day, you can present yourself to the interviewers. What more can you ask for? You have prepared and practiced. You've already created a positive vision. Interview coaching actually has competitive advantages. In that, you are much more prepared than other candidates. Find a professional coach in your area. It can cost a little bit but it's worth it for the personalized coaching that you're going to receive from them. You would have to invest to attain something. You can get some returns for this investment as you take control of your life and and your work. Finding a good job is fulfilling both personally and financially.
