I’ve always wanted to learn a foreign language---I mean, who wouldn’t? Imagine traveling to another country and conversing with the locals there as if you’re one of them. I mean, without having the difficulty to bring along a dictionary with translations in them—that can be a challenge. I can still remember traveling in a foreign country for the first time and most of the locals there don’t speak English.
Well, I settled for doing the typical tourist stuff---sightseeing, food tripping (had a hard time talking to the maitre d’ about my order and of course, the usual---- taking cheesy pictures…lots of them! Thus after that limiting travel experience abroad, I vowed to learn a foreign language from then on.

Aside from these there are also fantastic reasons that may be enough to fire off your motivation in acquiring those lessons. When you know a foreign language, you feel a part of the global community. Maybe you’re no longer surprised that Chinese is the most widely spoken language on Earth---1 billion+ speakers (and not English!); perhaps it’s also based on the most populated country in the universe.
English ranks only 2nd with 508 million speakers. That’s according to Listverse Top 10 Most Spoken Languages in the World. Aside from upping your CV a notch higher, being well-versed in some languages can set you apart from others and that’s a part of your personal development. And don’t you agree that foreign languages can be oh-so-sexy? A foreigner fluently speaking a native language could deem very attractive.
It shows how refined, cultured and sophisticated you seem. After those foreign language lessons, maybe you can say more than just “Bonjour Monsieur” to that cute Frenchman the next time you visit France.
