Tags: , ,

Several seminars ad discussions have already been given about how to manage franchisees and good leadership characteristics. Though this is not what everyone may consider the formula for success, as everything in business world would always depend on numerous other factors, but these characteristics given below are just the theories and principles that a good franchiser leader must possess in order to have trust and stability within his company.

I have summarized and narrowed down to these 6 basic elements to what for me are the characteristics of what an effective franchiser head must have. 1. A good franchiser leader must have good character and integrity. This is true especially if you like your franchisee to respect and trust you as these two qualities are very much a necessity for the success of any franchise network.

2. An effective franchiser head could manage and identify the conflicts within the company. He therefore, should be able to identify the conflicts and be able to deal calmly with them. As his franchisees have different expectations and needs, it could usually lead to conflicts within the organization. He too, must take into consideration the numerous opinions and talents of his various franchisees and be able to coordinate and cooperate accordingly with them.

3. A good franchiser leader must have a clear vision for his company. He should possess a precise vision of what his franchise network should be. Though this has already been said a thousand times, this is true in any business undertakings. 4. A good franchiser leader should be able to recognize and acknowledge the inevitable changes in the needs of his customers and the market, and he should be able to share his vision with other people and make others realize his own vision as well.

He must be flexible and could readily adapt to certain changes. 5. A good and effective franchiser leader must be sensitive and considerate enough in the use of his power as being the franchiser leader. He must also have the needed maturity as a person and strength of character and should also know who he really is to control the influential damage that power and authority could sometimes corrupt an individual.

He must also have a good character, careful not to be overwhelmed or taken by the influence or power it comes from being the leader. 6. A good franchiser leader should guarantee and equip his franchisees of smart and practical solutions and strategies when it comes to the market in which its product revolves, the franchisees’ need themselves, and of course, more importantly, the needs of the clients and customers.

He must be able to create and develop a good and wise judgment in each and every decision he makes because in the end, it all reflects to him, and he takes all the accountability and responsibility of whatever outcome of the final decision he makes. Consequently, with all these given information, insights and various concepts about the desired characteristics of what an effective franchiser leader must acquire, the success of a franchise network depends on its leader and his or her relationship with his franchisees.
