So the office manager is really supposed to have a total and complete knowledge and understanding on the tasks and functions of their entire organization. Those interested in coveting the position of a manager in a specific industry must possess suitable qualifications for getting better (and higher) pay. For example, it is better suited for an office manager to have a degree in pharmacy in order to supervise the production of drugs in a pharmaceutical company.

As a matter of fact, having related experience in research prior to landing the role of a manager will greatly help, as all the categories through which the production of drugs is controlled becomes familiar to the manager. For example, due to a system failure or a power interruption or breakdown, the employees are idle; the office manager now needs to take some special and necessary steps to correct the problem and inconvenience to resume work immediately.

Supervising the staff and planning the work are the basic functions of this job. Similarly, the functions and duties of a manager are very critical and crucial in meeting the targets for production in the manufacturing sector. The manager should plan the schedule for production by consulting the team leaders and engineers and arrange the delivery of raw materials on time.

Once the production now begins, the manager again needs to coordinate with all the team leaders to attain a good quality product. Moreover, those who have considerable experience in programming or design are best suited to the position of a team leader. From then on, they can assume the duties, tasks and responsibilities of being the production manager in an Information Technology company or a firm in software that focuses on trying to obtain a degree in management if they aspire to be promoted.

In summary, the main duties, functions and tasks of an office manager revolves around getting things done in an organized and orderly manner, bringing and maintaining cordial relations with customers and making use of the manpower in a highly productive way. As these qualities, skills and capacities are needed in many industries and companies everywhere, qualified professionals and employees ought to think about and consider honing and developing them further for better job prospects in their field or industry.
