There are good days and bad days, and those in-between, wherein it's neither good or bad, but simply those ho-hum days which makes you feel bored and not wanting to do anything at all. Well, it's time to be proactive and start to motivate yourself.
Here are some tips:
1) Instead of thinking or talking about it, DO it! Turn your to-do lists into to-done list. The best things and goals doesn't materialize just by thinking or talking about it. Act on it! And don't think about those things which you can't do--you don't want to attract bad vibes.
2) Though it's always not easy to do, try your best to stay focused on what you should be doing.
When it comes to tons of tips and self improvement advice (usually online), you may be confused of what to follow especially when it comes to motivation genre. Take note that we are all created differently, and what works for me may not work out for you. The best advice in staying motivated? Just stick to whatever works for you. No complications--less is more.
Take all advice with a grain of salt and don't think twice of discarding advice which doesn't work for you. People can get motivated differently, and for example, about how to go about your tasks during your work days.
When you dream big, it doesn't simply mean that you're wishful thinking. It means that you want to have a purpose in your life and you want to be fulfilled. They say that if you want to reach the heavens, aim for the stars. Aside from that, you have another great reason to welcome a brand new day with a smile in your heart. If you dream big, it's a reminder and a motivator of what your raison d' etre is in this world.
Come to think about it--it's because of big dreamers that we have great men in history who contributed all those inventions we now enjoy.
A new year is supposed to be a great way to start afresh. It's not necessarily a clean slate but it's clean enough for most people. For a lot of people a new start is enough of a motivation to begin with, so let's get back to some basics shall we?
First off, what have you been doing with your life in the past year? Did you build your own business? Have you taken a new sport? Did you write that novel you've always wanted or that tune you've always been thinking of? Whatever it is, it's time to evaluate the things you've been doing.
That's the common statement we hear from most people if ever they have a bout with a foul mood and the people around them are at least affected. We all have bad hair days and not-so perfect days, but you don't want your productivity to be affected just because 'you woke up at the wrong side of the bed.' Usually, it's just a matter of conditioning your mind that nothing can spoil your day no matter what.
If you train your mind how to start your day right, then it's easier to carry out your mornings and it's all a matter of self awareness.
Depression or simply down with the blues? Whatever you feel at the moment, if you’re down in the dumps, or if it's really clinical depression (a difficult illness) there’s help for depression and there are simple ways to motivate yourself even at your lowest of lows. 1) Mingle with people; okay, granted that you may choose to be by your lonesome inside your room, you may opt for better things than simply that. It’s healthy to be alone once in a while, but you need other people’s help to talk to you, support you and inspire you especially in times of depression.
Okay, for a change, let me digress a bit. I recently found this article about ways to fail and I can’t resist having my own take on this one. How to fail in life is usually not you might expect from this blog---actually, quite the contrary. Here at Innerzine, we discuss self improvement tips about success, self esteem and motivation. You want success? Then be sure to be aware of these ways to fail and avoid doing these: 1) You don’t know why you really want success. Okay, so granted that you’re trying to reach a certain goal.
My friend Brian Maxwell recently furnished me with a copy of one of his great books entitled, “Taking It To The Next Level”. In this gem of a book, author Brian Maxwell is your captain to your self help and self improvement voyage to find your way to your success and personal development. This book carries with it a lot of self improvement motivation insights especially with its 12-step process “for personal development”. More interesting to note, is that this book is a drastic departure from the typical self improvement programs you may encounter since it concentrates not on the “How” questions but rather on the “Why” questions.
“I will form good habits and become their slaves”. Thus said from the Scroll 1 of the hugely popular book from Og Mandino which is one of my favorite books of all time. Indeed, to commit ourselves to something, we have to start breaking bad habits and develop new ones. I read somewhere that as adults, we tend to become slaves to our habits. As human as we are, we have bad habits that we want to let go of and there are also tons of ways how to break them. Okay, for one, how about cursing? Are you guilty of this bad habit? Well, most of us are--cursing may actually begin at a very early age.
“What drives you”—so goes a famous tagline of Caltex. Yes, indeed, have you ever asked that question yourself? In other words, how do you stay motivated? But first and foremost, identify what are the things that keep you going or the things that personally bring you happiness, or at least help you attain happiness. Could it be professional success, a sense of achievement, financial independence, the freedom to be different, or to backpack and travel everywhere? You have your own reasons for pursuing those personal wants and aspirations to stay motivated. Try to do more of those things you like and less of those things you dislike.
