When you have an effective filing system, then it helps you to organize your paper works easier and more systematic. Having a good filing system would enable to assist you to locate the things you’re searching for quickly. And here are three effective filing system tips that could help. 1.
First and foremost, the Fundamental Filing Systems—generally, most people select only one, or even a mixture of these fundamental systems: a) Sequential or Chronological (by month—September, October, November, December, etc.) b) Numerical (0,1,2,3,4,5 etc.) c) Alphabetical ( A,B,C,D,E,F etc.) It really depends on you whatever type of filing systems you’re going to use and for what purposes.

 Okay, for instance, the Numerical system may be a good choice if you got tasks or projects which are numbered. On the other hand, if you want to store your files like the names of your customers, clients, friends and associates, then you can opt for the alphabetical system. You can always choose the Chronological or Sequential order when you need to search for things by date.
But in the end, choose whatever filing system you’re comfy with. You can be ingenious like other people and try blending one system with another. 2. Labeling—think about it—if your file is not even working well, chances are, it’s never gonna be that effortless and quick to find. So remember to write your subject on the tab your file folder, near above the tab, so you could simply see it whenever you look over your files.
Just use only a few words as you can on the tabs and write in print, instead of scripts for clarity. And don’t forget to use a black marker (medium point) to mark your files. 3. And now comes Categorizing. Bear in mind that any filing system could only be efficient and useful if you could look for everything you need, whenever you want it minus the hassles and struggle.
And any excellent filing system has various groupings of papers. Your papers can be either be into a Sub-category or into a Central category. For example, if your main category is Finances, some sub-categories under it may include: Investment Account, Savings Account, Time Deposit Account, or Checking Account Keep your central categories in your filing cabinet, and they must readily be inside hanging file folders complete with a marked tab.
Then, your sub-categories can be tagged in manila envelopes inside the central category folders.
