Do you know that your attitude is not determined genetically? Yes—that’s why it’s a good news for all of us since it means that we can train ourselves to think more positively. It all starts in our mind, as they say therefore, having positive thoughts for the day really helps in dealing with our daily situations in our life.
The one question that’s most often asked is--how to start your day right? I always advise my clients to start their day by having positive thoughts. You could have the power to reverse the feelings of gloom and hopelessness when you begin to count your blessings. I know, it’s quite a cliché already, but there’s an old Persian adage that says, “I was complaining that I had no shoes, till I met a man who had no feet.” The trick in having positive thoughts is taking the focus off yourself from time to time, and look for ways to help other people ease their pain or discomfort; usually, doing this creates a certain joy from within knowing that you made others happy even in your own special ways and you became a worthwhile and useful human being despite your flaws.

That you’re able to do good things to your fellowmen. Positive thoughts and attitude go hand in hand in making you set some realistic goals and reach them. Have you seen the movie Transformers? Think of yourself as the human “Transformer”. Transform your negativity to positive thoughts. At the beginning of a new day, if you’re determined that it’s going to be a fantastic day full of new beginnings to learn new things and enjoy life and love people, then it IS going to be a great day—no matter what happens.
On the other hand, if you already pre-conditioned your mind that you’re going to have a bad day, then, most likely you will, since you attract the negative energies of the universe. Positive thoughts can carry you to attain your goals and dreams if only you believe in it. For instance, if your goal is to quit smoking once and for all, then believe you can do it and discipline yourself not to fail to your own promise.
Or how about learning how to ride a bike—despite your age? Nobody can stop you despite what others will say—it’s not about their life, but your own, right? If you think you can do it, who are they to tell you otherwise?
