The initial step in writing journals is writing sans the burden of being an inner editor, your own critic. In this stage, there are no mistakes and no restrictions. The clean pages are open for you to fill it with your own personal thoughts. Write freely and openly, and bear in mind that your journal is a process, a journey.

The main objective of this activity is to improve a new point of view and not to change. Writing helps you to perceive yourself objectively through the logical workings of the left side of our brains. The only change needed in maintaining your journal is the way you treat yourself via your thought processes.
