I decided to take a walk and enjoy the Tuscan sun in all its glorious sunshine. So, you think walking is just all about aimless wandering and transferring of your body from one location to another? Even the mere act of walking has its own benefits. Walking to relieve stress is a good activity to incorporate to your healthy lifestyle. That's why if you take a walk, it's not just any mindless activity--it may be simple, but it involves a lot of advantages. Okay, that said, why do you think that the simple act of walking could be such a huge contributor of minimizing stress?
- Well, when you take a walk, you release endorphins, which are powerful brain chemicals to stimulate relaxation and relieve pain.

So, the higher level of endorphins you have, the greater your sense of wellness and composure. - When you take a walk, actually, you don't need to push yourself to lessen the stress. Research shows that an easy stroll could equate the effectiveness of brisk walking. The trick here is to utilize your brain whilst moving your body.
- You create a rhythm when you swing your arms as opposed to your legs. Yes, rhythm is yet another reason why walking lessens stress and tension. It also uses your right-left brain connection.
- What's more, all the negative energies brought about by stress would be expelled through perspiration.
The longer the duration you spend when you walk, you better your chances of forgetting the negative emotions which cause your stress.
