Make The Most Of Your Time During Daylight Savings Time

Tags: , ,

The idea of Daylight Savings Time (DST) is truly nothing new. As early as 1905, the idea of DST was originated by William Willet. His logic was that to make people up earlier in order to enjoy daylight during early mornings in summer, but his Daylight Savings Time was timed for April.

The concept caught on most especially in the army. Each time March 9 steps in, clocks and watches are adjusted an hour in advance to make use of an hour of daylight. Even if the alteration does bother your body clock, just adjust those Rolex and Casio timepieces in your offices and houses, or you would find yourself out of sync.

So how about making the most of that additional hour of afternoon in the sunlight? So Have You Adjusted Your Watches Yet? Daylight Savings Time was a bill promoted by US Representative Edward J. Markey and was practiced in 2007. Some are and some are not for the change as usual, because there are always twin sides to the same coin.

The opposing camps are those who like those sunlit evenings and and those who like daylights in the early morning. According to Markey, Daylight Savings Time provides the following benefits: lesser traffic problems, provides people some excess time to do some more free time and various activities sans the use of electricity, saves some energy, some retail stores and establishments take advantage of the added outflow of shoppers, offers individuals the opportunity to enjoy some outdoor activities, lowers electric bills and expenses in houses and business offices.

DST would start at 2am on the second Sunday in March and stops on the first Sunday in November. So better set up those non-mechanical wall clocks or wrist watches one hour in advance prior to hitting the sack. Because if you forget about this agenda in DST, your schedule or whole activities would be ruined with everything.

Therefore, Have More Time For Yourself. Now with an added daylight to enjoy, you could grab the chance to take those belly dancing or ballroom dancing lessons at last. You could also enroll in a computer class or take an extra crash course and learn a trick or two. Okay, for the ones who are tight in a budget, you can always take those aimless and leisurely walks with your favorite furry pet and savor the warmth of the sun in the afternoon whilst it still lasts.

You could actually do so much with that excess daylight before the coolness of November enters. If you are into creative hobbies such as carving, sculpture and painting, aren’t you glad you have that additional daylight from March to November? For instance, there are actually some of the activities to try while Daylight Savings Time is in full force: You can teach those kids some fun crafts such as playing dough or button jars or your can teach some older girls how to make earrings or jewel cases.

For photographers, you could get better outdoor shots with more daylight at this time of the year.
