You want to get things done; I want to get things done. All of us want to get things done. From our daily tasks, school homework and projects at work, the value of time management is a huge factor when it comes to productivity. If you want to get things done, then here are some time management tips to improve your efficiency.
But before that, here are some of the common things which prevent you from getting things done and accomplishing your objectives. 1) Meetings—frequent meetings 2) Being overwhelmed by a big project 3) Several distractions, like browsing the Net 4) Other people distracting you—emailing, chatting, calling, texting, making requests 5) Procrastination—avoiding and being frightened of a task 6) Not wanting to do a certain task coz you find it difficult, etc.

Those are the most common culprits that hinder our productivity (you can add some if you like). Now, what are the possible solutions to lessen the causes and move on with our goal in time management which is--- getting things done? These are some of my personal time management tips which worked on my own and some are of my friends’ ideas too.
And if you got any more ideas, feel free to drop me a line. 1) Establish your office/working hours. Tell people not to distract you except at only certain times of the day. 2) About that overwhelming and big task/project, chop it down into smaller pieces to minimize the gravity or extent of the work.
Time management is about making it more attainable and within your reach. You can cut it down into days or into a week. After the initial part is completed, then you could move on to the unfinished part. 3) As much as you can, do away with meetings (especially the unimportant and trivial ones) and simply move on to the actual work itself.
4) Focus on the essence of the valuable now. You can’t work on everything all at once—do it one step at a time, so that you won’t feel too drenched in accomplishing many stuff. 5) Get rid of too many unnecessary distractions. If you can, resist the temptation to linger on the Internet for long.
Don’t open your Twitter/Facebook accounts yet, (maybe a little later) and open your e-mail only at a given period. Set your cellphone on a silent mode and do whatever you can to give way to more urgent and personal matters. All in all if you want to be productive, learning time management is the way to go.
